报告人简介：Prof. Saqib，born in 1965, received the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical power engineering from the University of Sydney, Sydney, Australia, in 1996 and 1999, respectively. He then joined the Faculty of Electronics Engineering at GIK Institute, Topi, Pakistan, as Assistant Professor and became Associate Professor and Dean of the Faculty in 2005. Currently, he is a Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineer
ing at the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore, Pakistan. His research interests and activities are in the areas of electrical drives and power electronic converters, power systems and renewable energy.
He has established and upgraded four laboratories (Electrical Drives Laboratory, Power System Protection Laboratory, High Voltage Engineering, Power Transmission and Distribution Laboratory) and conducted, as Secretary, two IEEE international conferences - International Conference on Electrical Engineering (ICEE) 2007 and 2008. He also worked as co-chair technical committee for ICEE2009 and as member international scientific committee and local organising committee for 8th International Conference on Electric Fuses and their Applications (ICEFA2007) held in Clermont-Ferrand (France). Of course, he still works in several national-level committees as technical expert. And he owns more than 40 papers indexed by EI or SCI.
